Wiper Switch Installation Instructions
*** Please read all instructions carefully
before beginning installation***
Seller
is not responsible for damage to switch or vehicle if not installed properly.
Removal of existing switch
- Disconnect Battery!
- Removal of gauge cluster is not required for
switch install, but it will greatly increase the ease of installation.
- Remove existing wiper knob using the recessed
set-screw located on bottom of wiper knob.
- Remove nut & washer from wiper switch shaft.
- Disconnect three-wire harness, and remove switch
from dash.
Installing new switch
- Test fit your new switch.
- In most cases, flat washers
are installed on the wiper control shaft between the switch body and the
dash. This will prevent the switch from tilting upward
as it is tightened into place.
**Note: If using a bezel thicker than stock
type, minor trimming of the dash metal may be required to allow additional
threaded control shaft to be exposed for attachment of washer and retaining
nut.

Secure switch to dash using washer and nut that were included
with new switch.
Choose a mounting location for the three relays in a location
under the dash that will be away from direct heat, but close to the wiper
motor.
Secure the relays using self-tapping screws or zip-ties (both
included).
Connecting the Wires
Near the relays, you will find a black wire for
the ground connection and a yellow wire for power.
Connect the black wire to a known good ground
using a self-tapping screw or an existing
bolt/screw.
Connect the yellow wire from the new switch to the existing
yellow wire that can be found leaving the wiper motor (see picture) using a
blue Scotch-lok wire tap connector.
Connect three wires found near the switch’s main body to the
existing three-wire harness connector by inserting the flat terminals firmly.
If terminals do not stay inserted in the connector, bend them
slightly to create a tighter fit.
***WIRES WILL BE LIGHT-BLUE, DARK-BLUE,
AND BLACK***
Be sure to connect these wires ‘color-for-color’ to
the existing harness (see below)

Putting It Back Together
If you removed your gauge cluster for this installation, you may
now reinstall it in your dash.
Your factory wiper knob can be used on the new wiper delay
switch.
Remove the set-screw completely and set it aside (it will be
reused)
Using a ¼” drill bit, enlarge the existing hole in your wiper
knob, being careful to drill straight. Also, don’t go too
deep or you will risk punching thru the front of your knob.
We recommend using a drill press, but a hand-held drill will work also.
Once you are finished drilling, re-install the set-screw.
Place the wiper knob on the control shaft and tighten the screw
to secure it.
Testing your new switch
You may now reconnect your battery.
Turn on your ignition switch.
Turn your wiper knob clockwise one click to operate
the delay mode. Settings can be changed from about 13
seconds down to about 2 seconds between wipes by adjusting the knob clockwise
and counter-clockwise.
The next click to the right will be low speed
operation.
The final click to the right is high speed.
To operate the wash feature, push in on the button.
Spray will be delivered as long as you hold in on the button.
If you operate the wash feature while your wiper switch is off,
spray will be delivered as long as you hold in on the button.
Once you release the button, the wipers will deliver roughly three more
wipes before stopping.
****NOTE****
If
you are not able to operate the wash feature, you may need to loosen the
set-screw on the wiper knob and move the knob out slightly.
Tighten the set-screw and try again.
*****NOTE****
If
you wash feature did not work BEFORE you installed the new switch, it most
likely will not work now.
