Suncoast Ram Air Hoods are built in Bradenton, Florida and have been since the early 90Ęs. SUNCOAST hoods are a composite of steel, fiberglass, structural polymers, and other structural components. These hoods are designed to provide simple bolt-on
OEM fit and finish that will retain its original equipment qualities for many years. Our highly trained production crew uses only hand lay-up and RTM (Resin Transfer Molding ) processes to create performance hoods that last. Lesser quality production methods and materials such as chopper gun fiberglass or thermal-formed plastics can degrade over time. And as with many other products, this industry is also seeing an influx of cheap imported products.

Sealed Air Path. A Sealed Air Path (SAP) is preferred so hot engine compartment air is segregated from the incoming cool air that enters your intake. SUNCOAST Functional Ram Air Hoods are specifically designed to provide a sealed air path interface to the engine intake through either a minor modification to the existing airbox, a replacement airbox, or a matched cold air intake system.
Heat Extractors.
Many
of Suncoast Ram Air Hoods hoods offer heat extraction air flow in addition to SAP Ram Air.
Water Management.
Suncoast engineers have designed these hoods with built-in
water management
so that your vehicle is safe from the elements. There is no need to worry when that sudden rain storm approaches.
Strength and Safety.
SUNCOAST hoods are also designed to meet
Highway Safety standards and crash worthiness. Performance testing has been done both in house and at OEM facilities such as the General Motors Proving Grounds in Troy, Michigan. In fact, at a recent GM Slam test after over 2000 hood slams, the truck broke but the SUNCOAST hood never did.
